At Pocono Talk our main goal is to encourage discussion about the Poconos, its that simple! One way we hope to achieve this is to not only talk about the Poconos but to actually show you the Poconos as well through photographs and video.
Our first video to show you is a collaboration with Ken English of PoconoPreview.com that provides a general introduction to the Poconos and some comments from our very own Eric Kimes of Pocono Talk. They recently visited Alpine Mountain Ski and Ride Center to get a preview of what it looks like before the snow starts to fall. The video is available at PoconoPreview.com and is currently located on the front page.
About Alpine Mountain
Alpine Mountain is one of the smaller ski areas in the Poconos but is probably one of the most affordable as well. It is located off Route 447 in Analomink, PA and is adjacent to the community of Timber Hill, how would you like to walk just a few blocks to go skiing!  If skiing is not your thing they also they also have a half pipe, terrain part, and snowtubing so there is bound to be something for everyone. There are some great deals if you order yourseason pass before October 31st. Adult Pass – $319  Junior/Senior Pass – $219   Student Pass – $169
Personally I am not a skier, or a snowboarder. I know, I know, I live in the Poconos and its pretty much expected but I am originally from the Philadelphia area and my extent of winter sports was limited to snowball fights.  I have tried to learn since I moved here but it didn’t go that well, so for now I’ll stick back and guard the hot chocolate and make sure it…stays hot… :)Â
Someone who does know a thing or two about skiing is my husband Eric and I’m sure once we get into the winter season he’ll be posting plenty of ski related stories.  Have you ever gotten a chance to go to a ski resort in the Poconos? If so please post and share your story as to where and when, I would love ideas for additional ski areas to feature as upcoming topics.

Please do go check out the video if you have a chance.
Alpine Mtn is a fun place to go to. Bring some friends that don’t really know what they’re doing and that is a combination for some great laughs and an awesome experience.
Theres tons of Mtns to go to in the Poconos, and I am a SKI GURU! Skiing is my number uno most favorite activity to do. All I ever wanted was to just be a Ski Bum and move somewhere in which skiing was 24/7. But didn’t we all have crazy dreams when we were children.
Getting back to the topic at hand. If you have never seen much of Alpine Mtn and your curious as to what is and what it looks like then please go check out the videos and even their website. Good little Mtn for the money!
