This past weekend was the 7th annual Run for the Red Pocono Marathon, a big congrats to all that ran, it’s a really well organized and run race that gives a lot back to the American Red Cross here in the Poconos. The course is a bit of a drive, let alone a run or walk, so kudos to all of those who attended and completed it. Like many events ran here in the Poconos, a lot of visitors come in from all across the US to participate, and in the process get a taste of the Pocono Mountains.
I know for some locals there’s the added traffic, congestion and road closures that may put you in a sour mood, but it’s a great cause for our area and brings tourism and revenue to the area that benefits us all in the long run. The race is ran about the same time every single year, so if nothing else be sure to plan accordingly for next year, and the same goes for the Nascar and Pocono Raceway Events, and other big events that draw large numbers of visitors to the area.
For everyone that came from out of town to participate, if it was your first time here we hope you got a glimpse of what the Poconos has to offer and will come back to visit or vacation soon!
