Fall is in full effect in the Poconos! The cooler weather has arrived, the trees are changing into their breathtaking color combinations, and one of the best ways to experience the full beauty of fall is to take a Fall Foliage Train Ride. Sit back and relax, don’t worry about having to drive, and just take in all of the beauty that fall in the Poconos has to offer.
The Fall Foliage Weekends started last weekend and are good for this upcoming weekend (October 12-13) and next weekend (October 19-20). In addition to train rides, the Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Weekends offer Crafters, Artists, Food Vendors and more!
For more information you can also visit their website at: http://www.jimthorpe.org/fallfoliage.htm
Please park at the County Lot behind the train station, it’s very hard to find parking in town. Also, try and arrive as early to Jim Thorpe as possible, otherwise, you might find yourself in a bit of a traffic jam!
New restrooms at the visitor’s center downtown! Also, the Opera House restrooms and bar will be open from 12 – 5 on festival days.
Our sincere thanks for coming to Jim Thorpe, PA!

We recommend you arrive as early as possible in order to reduce traffic wait times getting into town.
– Where to Park
Parking in town itself is very difficult on any weekend. The best thing is to simply avoid trying to park on Broadway. instead, use the Carbon County Municipal Lot behind the downtown train station.
If you are arriving in Jim Thorpe on 209S from Stroudsburg, bear right through the light and in approximately 50 yards on your right, you’ll see the lot entrance. If you are coming from 903S, then cross the bridge and go left at the light. From Nesquehoning on 209N just proceed straight through the light. In about 150 yards you’ll see the lot on your left.
