Hawley is looking like a winter wonderland already, with a fresh dusting of snow and twinkling lights. In the photo on the left is the beautiful view of the town from the Hawley star, soon to be lit for the holiday season. And, if you’ve been fortunate enough to walk or drive down Main Street recently, you’ve seen the town cozily decked out in snowflake lights and light poles wrapped to look like candy canes thanks to help from Teeters Furniture and Myers Tree Service.
Local business owners and volunteers are busy getting ready for Winterfest, coming up in just a few short weeks on December 9-11. This is the 18th anniversary of this popular Hawley festival with holiday fun filling each day. Find a jolly dose of activities to delight waiting for you at every turn. From delicious holiday fare to the sounds of the season filling the air, a children’s show at the community theatre, artists and authors mingling with residents and visitors alike, ice carving, gingerbread decorating, a spin in a horse-drawn carriage, homes boasting decked halls on the holiday house tours, and so much more – all make for a Winter Weekend Wonderland. Many lodging establishments and inkeepers have also offered special rates and packages for the weekend.
