On Saturday, July 16 at 8:00 pm, Harmony Presents Harmony Presents showcases Harpeth Rising, a group of classically trained musicians, forging a new path in American Roots.
Billed as an “Americana Sensation” by WSM 650, this group of young Nashville-based musicians is making an immense impact wherever they play through their progressive, unique and utterly fun interpretation of American Roots music. With banjo, fiddle, cello and hand drums, bluegrass meets a grandiose symphonic sound. Named for the small but powerful river in Tennessee, they create original songs that layer rich instrumental arrangements with three part harmonies and lyrics that depict wanderlust, eternal curiosity, class struggle and extraordinary love. From their varied ancestry across Eastern Europe to the musical hotbed of the Mid-South they now call home, they weave together ancient and modern ideas, creating a sound that is both familiar and impossible to categorize. “We don’t set out to create something different, we just write in a way that is true to ourselves while trying to always expand and explore the new influences in our lives.” says Greenberg. “We’re aware of genre divisions, we’re just not bound by them.”
Harmony Presents concerts and shows take place in the beautiful & historic Boiler Room at the Hawley Silk Mill located in the underground theater at 8 Silk Mill Drive in Hawley. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early for preferred seating. Advance tickets are available for $20 up until the day of the show. General Admission tickets will be available for $23 after advance tickets end.
