It has been an incredibly and rather oddly ‘calm’ winter in the Poconos thus far. We got a bit of snow the day after Christmas – it wasn’t that much but it caused a lot of traffic problems and hazardous driving. Prior to that we had very small amounts and not until this past Friday when we got a few inches had we seen any real type of accumulation. It still wasn’t a great amount of snow but it was enough to get our 2 year old out (see above pic) for the first time to really be able to run/play in it.
We are on track for our first big expected storm(the last one gave us a lot of wind but next to no snow) with projections currently around 6 inches for Tuesday into Wednesday.
If there’s one thing I’ve said before that still holds true is that the weather in the Poconos is very unpredictable – whether it’s snow in April or warm weather in December you never quite know what to expect.
Here’s to a snow day for the kids on Wednesday – this past Friday was the first one so far and even though they just had a nice Christmas break you can never get enough snow days!
