On Friday, Nov 4 at 8:00 pm, The Doll Sisters, a Celtic Americana duo, hailing from the rolling foothills of Alberta, Canada plays the underground theater of the Hawley Silk Mill. “This incredible duo is known for their fiery musicianship, haunting harmonies and stellar songwriting. As skillful multi-instrumentalists on guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and bodhrán, Jenna Leigh Doll & Shelby Doll tirelessly strive to push the boundaries of what it means to be a female musician,” says Jill Carletti, Managing Director of Harmony Presents. The duo won ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’ award at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, ‘Young Performers of the Year’ at the Canadian folk Music Awards and many others. “Fusing together influences from their rich Irish and Scottish heritage, as well as elements from roots and rock, they have created a signature sound that is uniquely their own and has drawn them comparisons ranging from Heart’s Ann & Nancy Wilson to Alison Krauss to The Civil Wars,” adds Carletti. The duo has shared the stage with the likes of Clayton Bellamy, The Good Lovelies, Coig, Cindy Church, & Lisa Brokup, to name a few.
