David Jacobs-Strain is a virtuosic slide guitar player and a storyteller who comes to perform in Hawley on Saturday, November 15th at 8:00pm. “His shows are always passionate, humorous and deeply lyrical and showcase a strong appetite for delta blues & swampy rock and roll. David is something of a bridge between today’s indie folk troubadours and the delta guitar slingers of the 1930?s, playing with precision and emotional abandon. He’s a six-foot-two Jewish blues singer from Oregon, a Stanford drop-out in a trucker hat, and a Left Coast poet; one part Leo Kottke, one part Ken Kesey, and one part Robert Johnson. David has been on tour with artists as diverse as Lucinda Williams, Etta James, Bob Weir, and Boz Scaggs.,” says Jill Carletti, Managing Director of Harmony Presents. Wizard harmonica player, Bob Beach, will accompany David Jacobs-Strain for this show.
