Opener for Dave Matthews Band and a favorite among Harmony Presents performers, Nat Osborn returns with his folk-based project, Hawthorne, on Saturday, August 9th. Well-known for his funky, spicy and intelligent song-writing in the Nat Osborn Band, Osborn’s prolific songwriting knows no real bounds.
Hawthorne is a folk-based group hatched from Nat’s stellar talent and supported by some of the best young musicians from New York City. Intoxicating vocals, soaring cello & percussive beats weave elements of indie-folk, gypsy jazz, and Americana around Nat Osborn’s exceptional compositions. This exciting musical project takes cues from the likes of Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, and even older, rootsier folk, yet maintains a modern sound, in keeping with the modern folk revival of artists like the Fleet Foxes, Dawes, Damien Rice, and Mumford and Sons.
In addition to Nat on guitar and vocals, Hawthorne also features Aimee Bayles, a Virginia native bringing southern charm and hauntingly beautiful harmonies to the ensemble, Karna Ray, a phenomenal cellist and Stu Mahan, a master of bass.
