Balloon Entertainment at Texas Roadhouse in Stroudsburg

The Texas Roadhouse in Stroudsburg was put in a few years back and is located right in front of the Stroud Mall.  I didn’t eat there for at least a year after it opened but after being invited on a few different occasions for fundraisers we decided to give it a shot the one night.  It’s a chain steakhouse, good food, good service and reasonably priced.  From Mon – Thurs from 4pm to 6pm you can get specials for $7.99 per person which includes a starter(salad), the meal & a side.  The portions are a decent size, not huge but definitely stuffing.

We stopped by tonight in the midst of doing Christmas errands and towards the end of dinner was approached by a friendly fellow in a cowboy hat who introduced himself as Mark.  He explained that he is at Texas Roadhouse every Monday night from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.  I notice every time we go to eat there we are placed in the same section so I’m assuming the outer areas are marked “people with kids” so as he came through that section he was stopping at tables and making balloon animals.

They weren’t just any balloon animals though, you’ve seen the “pick a sword or a poodle” type of balloon artists.  My son asked for a dragon and that is what he got – the thing was BIG for a balloon animal, my son was incredibly happy and it attracted quite some attention as we left.

Mark doesn’t just do balloon animals though, he is also a magician and as his business card states he does “Magic, Hypnosis, Stilts, Juggling and Balloon Sculptures”.  He does both childrens parties and corporate events.

It provided a bit of extra fun to our family dinner out, it was totally free and if you’re looking to eat and occupy the kids a bit it’s something to think about.
