If you are interested in registering for the Pocono Marathon on May 20th, 2012, and haven’t already registered, you’ll want to do so ASAP as prices will increase in 12 days. You may have noticed an increase of people running and training for the marathon – and if you haven’t, be sure to keep your eyes out as the numbers will increase as we get closer to the marathon date. If you’re planning on visiting the area that weekend or heading out that morning be sure to allow yourself extra time if your route means a detour around or through the course. There were a few years we got delayed on our way to church (since it’s on a Sunday morning) as we forgot what the date was, so just keep that in mind as the date approaches.
I can’t say running is my cup of tea, so if you’re like me and not going to be running there are still ways you can participate as a volunteer or spectator.
The Poconos is a beautiful area to live and visit, and I imagine the Pocono Marathon has to be one of the more enjoyable marathons to participate in due to the scenery and route. The marathon is a Boston Qualifying Marathon, and it’s for a great cause as well, 100% of the entry fees are used towards disaster relief in the Poconos.
